ADULT PROGRAM COORDINATOR – inspiring adults through fun and lifelong learning
PPL’s Adult Program Coordinator is a member of the LIFE (Literacy is for Everyone) Department, and is responsible for planning classes and events (programs) for adults and teens, and cultivating community partnerships. The role requires a collaborative, creative, and organized person who is dedicated to public service.
JOB DUTIES:
- Dream Big: Create and implement a vision and strategic direction for adult programming; plan and implement classes and events
- Listen: Plan classes and events based on research into current trends and innovations; collect and analyze statistics to evaluate and improve programs
- Get Out of the Box: Build community partnerships that encourage sustainable and innovative programming; connect target communities with library services
- Get the Word Out: Promote library programs through electronic newsletter, social media, and traditional media; create eye-catching graphics for web promotion and posters
- Engage: Regularly contribute blog articles, record podcasts, contribute to the library’s social media, and share your skills by teaching classes
- Collaborate: Get involved with library projects outside of core responsibilities according to your passions and interests
- Grow: Learn and apply new work methods, skills and technologies
- Organize and Communicate: Use Trello and Google Apps to organize programming ideas and plans, and to communicate with library staff
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Strong project development and coordination abilities including organizational and research skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities
- Interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate, communicate ideas, generate support, negotiate and resolve conflict
- Ability to work across a range of projects
- Graphic design skills, familiarity with Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
- Ability to produce quality documents, reports and communications in a variety of formats for both internal and external audiences
