New Member Benefit: Free Access to Candid’s Foundation Directory
Starting July 7, Northern New York Library Network members will have remote access to a leading grantfinding tool. This addition to our collective electronic resources comes in response to member input about their needs and at a time when non-profit cultural organizations are facing fiscal uncertainty and potentially losing access to longstanding federal grant programs. Candid’s Foundation Directory is a best-in-class research tool that helps nonprofits identify and connect with over 240,000 U.S. grantmakers. The tools available in the database are meant to reveal opportunities beyond published calls for proposals, which Candid claims make up less than 1% of total foundation funding.
If you are a Network member who has NOT yet signed up for access, you can click the Foundation Directory icon at https://access.esln.org and then “Create new account.” Your account will need to be verified and then you will receive an email with instructions to access the resource.
To aid us all in effectively utilizing this resource, Candid maintains a regular schedule of live webinars, as well as a set of recorded videos available on-demand to help us learn how to succeed in finding grant funding.
Note: This tool is licensed only for staff use and it is not intended for use by library users or the general public.
