Job Title:                                            Engagement and Educational Services Coordinator

With the Executive Director and WNYLRC Staff, the ideal candidate plans, coordinates, and administers all aspects of WNYLRC’s member professional development program, the statewide Ask Us 24/7 virtual reference service,  and WNYLRC’s marketing and social media communications.  This position works closely with members through various committees and consultations with WNYLRC staff to offer dynamic programming to our members as well as provide training and mentoring for Ask Us 24/7 participants. This position requires travel and attendance at various statewide meetings, conferences, and events. WNYLRC offers excellent benefits including NYS retirement, life insurance, subsidized health insurance, and substantial vacation, personal, and sick time.

Minimum Requirements:  MLS or MLIS.  Preferred candidates will have three years of experience in a library setting, be highly proficient with technology, have an understanding of the evolving role of education and professional development in meeting career and professional needs of WNYLRC members, have a customer service focus, have a desire to teach and train library colleagues and have excellent written and oral communication skills.  Experience with developing curriculum and instructional design and methods are highly desirable.  See the complete job description here. The Western New York Library Resources Council (WNYLRC) is a member-driven not-for-profit consortium of libraries and library systems serving six counties: Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, and Orleans and helps libraries build connections with each other, library users, and the larger community. WNYLRC was chartered by the New York State Board of Regents in 1966. Member libraries include academic, corporate, hospital and other special types of libraries. Library systems include public and school libraries. WNYLRC is governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees. Most Council programs are funded by state aid administered by the Division of Library Development at the New York State Library. The Council also seeks funding from private and other government sources for specific projects.
