ScanKits

The Network provides digitization support through the loaning of ScanKits, i.e. equipment and software available to borrow to complete all steps of a digitization project.

Member organizations, or affiliates, may borrow a ScanKit for up to six months after attending a brief training session during which Network staff will offer instruction on how to operate the equipment.

Eligibility

Representatives of libraries, archives, historical societies, museums, schools, and other educational and cultural organizations are eligible to borrow a ScanKit at no charge.

Eligible materials include:

  • Material that reflects regional history and culture.

  • Curricular or classroom material.

  • Materials not falling within these criteria will be assessed on an individual basis.

  • Materials digitized may be placed on the statewide digital history site New York Heritage at the discretion of NNYLN and the contributing organization.

Contact digitization@nnyln.org for more information or if you have questions.
