On Sunday, July 29th the NNYLN offices suffered a power failure. Normally this would not affect operation of the NYS Historic Newspapers web site (NYSHN). However, the generator failed to run and about an hour after the power failure the backup batteries ran out of power.
The site’s new storage disk failed to return to online status when the site restarted. The file system began an integrity check that lasted until today, August 13th. We’ve restored the site to normal operation however there 79 titles that are partially or completely missing page images. In the coming weeks we’ll be restoring those titles from backups.
Before reporting problems with NYSHN please review the list of titles below. These are the titles that we know are partially or completely missing page images. Thanks for your continued patience!
