Learn the basics of the Candid database in this introductory training session designed for library staff. Led by a librarian, this class will provide an overview of Candid’s powerful nonprofit and grant research tools, including Foundation Directory and GuideStar. Participants will learn how to search for grantmakers, research nonprofit organizations, identify funding opportunities, and assist patrons with beginning their fundraising research. The session will also cover best practices for navigating the database, understanding funder profiles, and using search strategies to support community organizations, entrepreneurs, and nonprofit patrons. No prior experience with Candid is required and everyone is welcome to attend.
