The Data Technician in the Technical Services Department helps maintain a database of library materials for 65 member libraries.

General Job Description

  • Operate a computer to create, add, delete and edit bibliographic records in a large database according to standardized practices and procedures
  • Search the database for matching records and adding holdings
  • Bar-code materials
  • Physical activities, such as sorting and preparing books for delivery
  • Function well on a team and assisting with a variety of tasks


  • High School Diploma or its equivalent
  • Keyboard experience
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken
  • Basic understanding of sending & receiving email, Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Ability to sit at workstation for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work effectively using a personal computer for long periods of time
  • Ability to operate computer equipment, including keyboard and monitor, phone equipment and other necessary office equipment

Work Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, normally 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Annual Salary: $21,294-$23,953
