This presentation offers a very brief overview of the Library of Congress tool BagIt, which helps to ensure the integrity of digital files over time and during migration/transfers.
This will include background on the tool, why it exists, and a simple overview of how it works, including the presenter’s experience using the tool for the digitization project at the Tupper Lake Public Library.
About the presenter:
Conor Snow is currently the Project Archivist at the Goff-Nelson Memorial Library in Tupper Lake, NY. He completed his Master’s Degree in Archives and Public History at NYU in 2020 and has also served as an archivist at NYU, the Brooklyn Historical Society, and New York Philharmonic Archives.
