Children’s Book Week.  World Read Aloud Day.  Bring Your Child to the Library Day.  National Novel Writing Month.  There are so many literacy-themed programming “holidays” in the calendar year that it can be easy to let them slip through the cracks.  When we do remember them, it’s often at the eleventh hour—too late to present an effective program.  Programming is an increasingly important part of library service (it’s even part of DLD’s new minimum standards), and literacy-themed programs and events are a great place to make an impact.  Join us at NCLS for an overview of these celebrations and programming ideas to promote.

Facilitator: Angela Newman
